Venture Capital 101 Series
The VC 101 Series is a set of educational events designed to introduce EA members to the venture capital process and industry by presenting foundational knowledge before visits and speaking events by venture capitalists. Students are exposed to the complementary processes of raising money and making investments, gain insight to the latest trends in funding, learn must-have information on how to prepare for and pitch to investors and gain exposure to common pitfalls and traps to be avoided. The program will culminate in the Deal Review night prior to the Knapp competition where students will be given the opportunity to evaluate student business plans prior to their formal Knapp presentations. The majority of these events are scheduled in advance of the Venture Capital Roundtable and the Knapp Venture Competition.
Venture Capital Panels and Speaker Series
Meet the professionals who will fund your company before it goes public. West Coast venture capitalists talk about their path into the industry, walk Anderson students through the VC-investment process and share the highs and lows of fighting on the front lines of building technology and other high-growth corporations. This program brings in a series of speakers, individually or in panels, that include venture capital professionals and angel investors to discuss the state of the industry.
Venture Capital Roundtable
Anderson’s Venture Capital Roundtable is a premier event that attracts more than 60 venture capitalists and more than 100 MBA students interested in venture capital, private equity and entrepreneurial development. The event begins with a networking reception and hors d’oeuvres. Our keynote speaker follows, after which we begin the first of three 20-minute roundtable sessions. During each of the sessions, groups of two to four venture capitalists and five to seven students interact to discuss the venture capital process and industry trends. After each session, the students move to other tables to meet with different venture capitalists. At the conclusion of the night, there is an opportunity to network with the other professionals.
